The original doesn't look like this, this is just the only available digital file that i have that I edited on gimp to mirror the final one a bit. That's the downside of doing oversized work. The sketch was indeed 9" x 12" BUT I was instructed to blow it up almost twice its original size (to 15" x 22"). After I did that I color penciled, pastel'd, and ink touch uped on top of the print. Someday I'll own a scanner big enough to deal with things bigger than 8 by 11...

There is no shading. If you're interested enough in the look- yarka or niji watercolor sets are typically under $5 and great quality to experiment with (they're what I use). The water does all the work for me.

maybe the word i was looking for was blending....i dunno. my art vocab is limited but I always seem to have trouble finding colors that compliment one another so I always leave my doodles as is. I guess it just takes lots of practice to be that awesome lol

Colors are different for everybody- some people only like one to three colors so they only use those. Me, I end up using them alll and everywhere just to cover the bases lol
